This Paranormal Exploring season has been super cool and FINALLY my favorite location is available for everyone to experience!
Over the summer, my friend Tammy, who is a VERY gifted psychic medium, and I, spent the night on the U.S.S. Edson in Bay City, Michigan for the Paranormal Exploring Project.
This ship served in the Vietnam War but her history doesn’t stop there. While at sea, she took a direct hit from enemy fire. They thought she went down, but she ended up getting back in the fight. She was PISSED and the enemy thought they were seeing a ghost ship, that’s how she earned the nickname, “The Grey Ghost of the Vietnamese Coast.”
Years later, she was decommissioned and was docked in New York City as a museum. During 9/11, all of New York City’s communications went down with the Twin Towers, officials boarded the ship, locked themselves below deck, and set up New York City’s communications hub from the U.S.S. Edson.
Eventually, she was moved to Bay City, Michigan, where you can take a history tour or a paranormal tour as part of the Saginaw Valley Ship Museum.
Visitors claim to hear voices, unexplained sounds, see shadow people, and feel the presence of someone following them around the ship, watching. Some think it’s Paul, the former caretaker.
Tammy and I boarded the ship around 5pm and left at 9am the next day. She had NO CLUE I was taking her here. She traveled down from northern Michigan, while I traveled up from northern Ohio. We met in a parking lot about 15 minutes from the location and she almost immediately knew we were going somewhere that had to do with the military.
My craziest experience was at the end, when I woke up from my cabin and could hear a crew working outside my door and I could smell fresh coffee. Tammy and I were the only two on board and I thought she was up talking to the staff. I left my cabin and noticed she was still in her cabin. No one else was on board.
Enjoy!
